The ATQ measures the nine NYLS temperament
dimensions in adulthood. These characteristics
include activity level, rhythmicity, approach-withdrawal,
adaptability, intensity, mood, persistence, distractibility
and sensory threshold.
The second edition includes new norms for nine distinct groups:
teens, high school age, college age, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60+,
as well as the original, now called classic, sample.
The test manual contains information
regarding the development of the instrument, statistics
and directions for use and interpretation. In addition
it includes the complete NYLS item pool used with the
original study group.
The ATQ is a 54 item self-report instrument
standardized on the original NYLS sample. It is self-administered
in 10-15 minutes and is useful for research or professional
practice. Manual scoring takes 8-10 minutes.
NYLS Adult Temperament Practice Set comes
with a test manual, and 25 questionnaires, with scoring
and profile sheets.
